PNW-SRM

Election: SRM WA Chapter, Spring 2026

SRM Washington Chapter’s directors serve for two years.  Elected directors are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and two Directors at large.  The terms are staggered so that three directors are elected every year.  This year’s election is for the 2026-2028 Term of Office and includes Vice President, Secretary,  and one additional Director.  2024-2026 Directors currently serving are President, Craig Madsen; Treasurer, vacant; and additional Director, vacant.  The Bylaws empower the Board of Directors to fill vacancies.

Meet the candidates

Ken Visser, Vice President

It would be my privilege to continue to serve as the SRM WA Chapter Vice-President.  Washington has a unique variety of rangeland and grassland ecosystems and I appreciate the diversity in the human uses, values and products gleaned from these ecosystems. I am proud to be part of an organization that advocates for and furthers the knowledge and techniques that achieve sustainable rangeland management.

Amy Grund, Secretary

I am currently a Rangeland Management Specialist with the Colville National Forest, Tonasket Ranger District in northeastern Washington. I have worked with the Forest Service since 2021. I received my Masters of Rangeland Ecology and Management from Colorado State in 2023. My private sector experience and undergraduate education consisted of land management with a focus on prescribed fire, livestock grazing, and invasive species control. I live in Tonasket, Washington with my twin sister Denay and our many pets and farm animals. I like to ride and hike in the eastern Cascades. When not outside, I spend my time reading, to the chagrin of my filly Littlefoot and mare Sage (mustangs from Northern Nevada). I wish to contribute to the continuation of the SRM Washington Chapter. I have not yet served in such a position but would like to apply my knowledge of rangeland management in the federal sector. I am looking forward to learning more about rangeland management within Washington State and hope to share my enthusiasm regarding rangeland ecology and management.

Angelle Notaro, Director

I am excited for the opportunity to contribute to the Washington Chapter of the SRM PNW Section. My career and education have largely been geared towards Rangeland Ecology and federal policy related to rangeland management. I am currently the Central Area Rangeland Management Specialist for the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) Washington since August 2024. I am based out of Okanogan but my area covers eight counties in the central third of Washington. Some of the more common projects I work on are related to grazing management with Virtual Fence, regenerative grazing for Sage Grouse and Pygmy Rabbit habitat, native shrubland restoration and seeding, and rangeland health analyses for large ranches or Coordinated Resource Management groups. I worked for the US Forest Service from 2017 to 2024 as a Range technician and then Rangeland Management Specialist for the Salmon-Challis National Forest (ID), Payette National Forest (ID), and Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest (NV/CA). In the Forest Service I primarily focused on grazing management within sensitive montane ecotypes and endangered species habitat management. I earned my Masters of Natural Resource Stewardship in Rangeland Management and Ecology from Colorado State University in 2022. I have an undergraduate degree in Biology with a specialization in Terrestrial Ecology. I would like to contribute to the SRM Washington Chapter to promote the principles of responsible and sustainable rangeland management. I endorse SRM’s mission and am familiar with the organization as a member of SRM since 2018. I would like to use my expertise in rangeland ecology and experience in working with various government and private industry partners to support the SRM Washington Chapter.
