The winner of the 2024 PNW ‘Jim Brunner – In for the Long Haul’ award goes to our dear friend, John Buckhouse.
John Buckhouse, a long-time professor at Oregon State University and a long-time member of the Society for Range Management. John has served SRM and the PNW Section in many capacities – PNW Section president, National SRM president, PNW awards chairman, Co-Chair of the 2006 national SRM meeting in Vancouver. BC.
John Buckhouse helped move the range management profession and SRM in a positive direction. But the greatest satisfaction John received came from working with students, agencies, and practioners on land management issues, and then seeing how this cooperation resulted in positive changes to the land.
