Andrea Mann was raised on a grain and livestock century farm in Nebraska, which practices conservation farming in conjunction with pasture and wildlife management. She received her BS from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1983 and began her
service with the Society for Range Management in 1981 as a student member with the Nebraska Section and student chapter.
Andrea became a member of the PNW Section in 1985 when she moved to Washington State with Soil Conservation Service (currently NRCS) and began her service to the PNW Section, acting as student affair chairs, standing for election of the board, serving her term and continuing to contribute on the
Executive Committee when she was elected as president in 1998.
After retirement, Andrea has served as secretary, college student affairs, awards chair, and most recently volunteered to stand for election as president for the second time. Andrea has also been involved with the international meetings held in Spokane 1992, 2012, and 2025.
She thanks her lifetime mentors Pete Jackson, Nebraska State Range Conservationist;
Tom Brannon, WSU Forest and Range Extension Specialist retired; John Buckhouse,
OSU Rangelands research and education and so many more who have inspired and
encouraged her.
