Sheep Center Manager and Forage Manager, Department of Animal and Rangeland Sciences Oregon State UniversityApplications are invited for a 12-month, full-time professional faculty position serving as the Sheep Center Manager and Forage Manager in the Department of Animal and Rangeland Sciences at Oregon State University in the supporting efforts of the research, teaching and outreach. The position will spend an estimated 50% of their time in the daily management of the Wilson Farm aka Sheep Center. This 300-acre animal farm unit comprises of 90 maternal ewes, 30 ewe lambs and 5 rams and is located 3.5 miles away from the main campus. Additionally, 30% of their time will be spent planning and coordinating the improvement and management practices of the department’s 2,052 acres of fenced pastures across the multiple animal farm units based in Corvallis. The department is interested in supporting research related to pasture-based management for all its animal units with the goals of achieving a more efficient use of the pastureland and reducing feed costs of this under-utilized resource.
